‘The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn.’
A three-day CPD training was held at SPS, Rajendra Nagar for the middle school teachers, on Self Assessment and Reflection from 25th to 27th May 2022. It was conducted in two batches by two resource persons; Ms. Kalpana Kapoor and Ms. Alka Rao, eminent educationists and master trainers.
The resource person highlighted the importance of understanding self and creating a happiness blueprint. The teachers should also take initiatives for a happy classroom as per NEP and CBSE initiatives and use Bloom’s Taxonomy to progress on the developmental continuum.
The need to use ability grouping was emphasized upon as a practice of placing students of similar academic ability in the same class group as opposed to placement based on age and grade level. The use of deductive, inductive, and abductive approaches in the classroom for effective teaching was discussed. The participants were guided to locate the learner on the Developmental Continuum.
It was a very informative and enriching session for the participants and a great learning experience on Self Assessment and Reflection strategies.
