Educational Visit to Gurudwara & Church

“Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring a change. Learning is more than absorbing facts, it is acquiring understanding.”
-William Arthur Ward( American Writer)

The school organised an educational outing to Gurudwara & Church On Thursday, 12.5.22 for the students of classes Nursery & KG within the school hours.
The main objective was to make the children understand the different religions and cultures. The students were taken to ‘Rakab Ganj Gurudwara’ to expose them to Sikhism. The tiny tots were very excited about this new experience. They followed the procedure and accordingly covered their heads, and washed their hands and feet before entering the Gurudwara. All the learners were amazed to see the place as it was beautifully decorated with flowers and had an elevated platform that looked majestic. They also listened to the Shabad (hymn) which was being played on a harmonium with their heads bowed down and hands folded. They paid their due respect to the holy book –‘Guru Granth Sahib’ as they bowed in front of Granth Sahib and did a parikrama. They also relished ‘Kada Prasad’ as they were leaving the worship place. They also learned a new way of greeting people by saying “Sat Sri Akal” meaning “Truth is the name of God”.
After this, the little ones also visited ‘The Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church, Gol Dak Khana. Children experienced the peaceful and serene ambiance prevailing in the church where they were told about the importance of Christianity and were also shown the idol of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary.
A short and pious journey ended with a smile and a sense of calmness on every learner’s face where they learned that they need to respect all religions.
