Inter School Science Competition - Mindsparks नवप्रवर्तन 2021

Harsheen Kaur of class V represented Gyan Devi Salwan Public School and bagged the outstanding position in an Inter- School Science Competition “Mindsparks नवप्रवर्तन 2021” organized by Salwan Public School Gurugram. The competition laid emphasis on
catalyzing and energizing research and innovation to uncover something new for the betterment of society. She made biodegradable plastic after extensive research and exploration, which was highly appreciated by the judges. It was a great learning
experience for the students as it involved research, understanding of the concept, and its application keeping in mind the environmental aspect.

British Council International School Award 2020-23
As a recognition of its year long pursuit for providing its students International Dimension and global exposure in education, GD Salwan Public School has once again bagged the prestigious INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD for the period 2020-23. An international dimension was successfully designed, developed and inculcated in the school curriculum through a myriad activities.
The ISA team worked tirelessly and designed an Action Plan which included global themes in the curriculum with an intention of enabling the students to understand and appreciate different cultures and facilitating their integration as global citizens. The school planned and executed seven different projects for students of different age groups which were titled as ‘Studying Cartoon Characters of China ,UK, USA’, ‘Studying the Folk Tales of India, China, Nepal, Russia and partner country’, ’Celebrating and studying the festivals of India, Nepal and U K ‘,’Studying the Value of Currency, Difference in Time zone and Population Density of India, Bangladesh, USA and Japan’, ’Disaster Management in India, China, Japan and USA.’, ’Studying Pottery and Art of India, China, Nepal ,Bangladesh, Africa and partner school’ and ’Role of ICT in Education in India, USA, Germany and China’.
The plan was put into action involving students and teachers of all grades from Kindergarten to Class XII. The students and teachers worked in unison to achieve the objective of giving globally conscious ethos to the school. Successful collaboration with partner schools from different countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal helped our students to share knowledge and views on different global issues through e-mails, PPT exchange and video exchange . Under the mentorship and guidance of our Principal , with zeal and zest of one and all involved, we accomplished our mission and brought glory to our school by getting the award for the fourth time in succession.
The Accreditation has opened windows to other countries and cultures, giving teachers and pupils a new outlook of the world. It has prepared one and all with skills of life.
Online Scrabble Competition


Arcchit Sehgall of class XII bagged the First Position and in ‘HOST 2021’, Online Scrabble Competition organised by Hindustan Institute of Science & Technology- Department of Languages & English Language Teachers Association of India (ELT@I) held on 24th April, 2021. He received a Certificate of Merit and cash prize, for being the Overall Winner.
Inter School Debate Competition

Yogita Mittal of Class X bagged the First Position in the Inter School Debate Competition held on the occasion of International Adolescent Health Week Celebration organised by the Society of Adolescent Health & Medicine, USA and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on 24th March, 2021.
‘AI For Youth’ virtual symposium
100 students and teachers from our school Gyan Devi Salwan Public School participated in ‘AI For Youth’ virtual symposium from October 13 – 17, 2020. It was organised by CBSE in collaboration with Intel. The symposium enabled Youth to learn about AI readiness skills and other emerging technologies from global leaders also they gained an immersive experience and witnessed AI social impact projects created by their own peers.
Through this participation students participated in the official Guinness World Records™ attempt. For that they had completed the lesson, attempted a quiz and submitted and also they had received certificates for the same. It was a proud moment for all the students to be part of Guinness World Records.

International Conference on STEM Education 2021

Smt. Dolly Dhawan, PGT English was selected as a panelist to interact on the topic ‘Use of AI in teaching of English’ in the International Conference on STEM Education 2021, organised by National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Smt. Dhawan discussed the integration of AI tools in the lesson planning at the school level to develop research and critical thinking skills in the students.
CBSE Principals’ Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education
Smt. Dolly Dhawan, PGT English, gave a presentation on ‘AI integration in English Lesson Plans’ in CBSE Principals’ Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education held virtually on 6th April, 2021.
CBSE Intel Artificial Intelligence Webinars for teachers
Smt. Dolly Dhawan (PGT English), Shri Prabhat Kumar Sharma (TGT Hindi) and Smt. Rekha Sharma (TGT Hindi) participated in a 3 days virtual workshop for Integration of AI in School Curriculum in August 2020. The teachers contributed to the AI integrated Lesson Plans for English and Hindi for CBSE Intel Artificial Intelligence Integration Manuals.

Participation in MUN
Salwan Model United Nations was held virtually in the month of May, 2021. Consisting of various events, it commenced with a two-day MUN assembly followed by a series of writing competitions. Vansh Chawla of Class XII from GD Salwan, secured the First Position in Article Writing and won Special Mention as “Norway” in the event, bagging cash prize of Rs. 500 each. Hiral Singhal of Class X won “Best Essay”, with a cash prize of Rs. 500.
Online Drawing Competition 2020


- Aditya Pramanik of class VIII A received a Certificate of Merit in the Art competition ‘Art Caro Na’ organized by National Institute of Science Communication and Information Research, on the theme ‘Coronavirus: An Invisible Enemy’.
- Aditya Pramanik also received a Certificate of Merit in teh Online Biodiversity Art Competition organised by CSIR National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources
Art Competition by History Diaries

Haroon Suvasiya of class VII B also bagged the Third Position in the Online Art Competition organised by History Diaries.
Kirori Mal Art Competition

HAROON SUVASIYA of class VII B brought laurels to school by winning the Second Position in the 2nd Kirori Mal Art Competition organized by Finetouch Art Motivators and Educators. He was also awarded a cash prize of Rs 1000. WELL DONE!!
National Online Painting Competition

HAROON SUVASIYA of class VII B won the Second Position in National Online Art Competition organised by ‘Kalantar Art Trust’ and was highly appreciated for his work.
Mandala Art Contest organized by History Diaries

Students participated in Mandala art contest organized by History Diaries on 24 May 2020. Divyanshi Bareja of class XII won the First Position for her exceptional painting.
Chess Tournament
J.Sai Jayanth secured the International FIDE rating-1247 as an exceptional player of Chess. He participated in the Delhi State U-17 Tournament held in April April 2019, Delhi State Amateur U-17 Tournament held in August 2019, Delhi state U-17 tournament held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in January 2018 and DCA Under 1600 Rating Tournament held in November, 2018.
Laurels in Drum Playing
Jaskirat Singh and Sarthak Jain of class IX were declared North India toppers in Drums in the competition organised by Rockschool, London. They bagged individual scores of 97 and 95 respectively.
