Conducted by :-
Pratham Organization, lead the way

“Few Activities are as delightful as learning new vocabulary.”
With this maxim, Gyan Devi Salwan Public School organized a workshop on Wowcabulary on 13th October 2016 for classes 9th – 11th. The concerned person (Speaker) gave a glimpse about the significance of good vocabulary for appearing in Common Entrance Tests, to sit for Group Discussions at the time of either admissions or interviews. They made use of Mnemonics (Memory Improvising techniques) by showing video clips which stropped the thinking pattern and cognitive skills of students. They emphasized on practical knowledge by using mnemonics, as it helps us acquire specific techniques that become tools of our trade. There are some things, we can only learn through doing and experiencing. Where theory is often taught in the ideal of a vacuum, the practical is learned through the reality of life.
The workshop was very interesting and innovative. It motivated teachers to adapt such kind of methodologies to make the teaching-learning more interesting and fun-filled experience.

REPORT

Success is where Preparation and Opportunity meet.
Salwan Education Trust has always provided students with golden opportunities to prove their mettle. Playing Golf is one such opportunity. Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated. It’s more of a game of mind and intellect than of strength. Though the golf course is spread over miles of lush green grounds but actual golf is played on the five and a half inch course……. The space between the two ears.
During its ‘Platinum Jubilee’ year Salwan Education Trust in association with ANAND Group hosted the Salwan Cup 2016, School Golf Championship at ITC Classic Resort and Country Club Manesar, Haryana.
The four day event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Shri Swatanter Kumar, Chairman NGT, on Tuesday, 11th October, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. It ended with the Award Ceremony on Friday, 14th October, 2016. The Guest of Honour was the DG, Border Security Force, Shri K.K. Sharma IPS.
The two golfers, Dilpreet Singh and Muskan Bhardwaj, of Gyan Devi Salwan Public School, played brilliantly. Their three years of intensive and rigorous training brought laurels to the school.
Muskan Bhardwaj made the school proud by bagging the first position among the golfers of Salwan Girls Category.
Kudos to Muskan! You have upheld the name of your school. Keep it up.
