   Nature Walk

Date- 22nd April, 2019

It’s always an enriching experience to be with our green friends. Primary students of classes’ I-V were taken for a nature walk on 22 April, 2019 within the school premises. They were encouraged to observe the plants and surroundings. The nature walk broadened their knowledge and gave them firsthand knowledge of herbs, shrubs and trees. They took a deep breath and were told about how we all inhale Oxygen (pure air) and exhale Carbon-di-oxide (impure air), while, plants, on the other hand, inhale Carbon – di-oxide and exhale Oxygen. Therefore it is good for us to be in the midst of greenery often. The children were explained the difference between a tree and a plant and the different types of plants. They were made to feel the texture and observe the varying shapes of different leaves. They were also encouraged to maintain cleanliness. The children thoroughly enjoyed the open- air outing in the lap of green. Children asked various questions during the nature walk and truly enriched their knowledge about the nature around them.
