Having a career that is creatively inspiring, value creating and rewarding is the desire shared by all. To enable young students get sound career guidance and correct direction for their future, G D Goenka Public School, Sector 48, Gurugram  has been organized  a Career Guidance session followed by a Career Fair on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Career Fair was conducted by the renowned career counselor Ms. Pervin Malhotra, Director of Career Guidance India. Ms. Malhotra is a reputed Counselor and a widely read Career Columnist. She has been researching and practicing in this field for the last 20 years and has published over 30 books

The Career Fair was very helpful for the students to connect directly with institutes of higher learning and gain an understanding of admission process and procedures along with interaction with representatives of reputed private universities of Northern India & Foreign universities.

It was an interactive workshop for teachers and students. Different universities approached there to exhibit a number of courses  and few were very  interesting. There were stalls of Indian Air force, SRM university ,Ansal university ,Cabin and Crew management.  A number of forgien universities were available  their to guide students like University of OTTAWA, University of Victoria, St. George’s University, University of Exeter, University of Warwick and University of  British Columbia etc.

School has conducted the counseling session by Ms. Pervin Malhotra, Director of Career Guidance India for students aand parents also in which she shared her life incidence that how she has switched in different careers and struggled a lot . “Career is like PARCHUTE “.She  has given a great massage that What is hot  today, lukewarm tomorrow and will become ice berg in future so we should plan students career according to his or her abilities ,interest and personalities.  

LEARNING OUTCOME The Career Fair was very helpful for the students to connect directly with institutes of higher learning .we should plan student’s career according to his or her abilities , interest and personalities.  Students got a lot of exposure and they are very keen to attend such informative program in future.

Theme: 5 keys on global trends on education

The webinar on 5 global trends on education by Mr.Rod fraser was conducted by Future 50 Schools Shaping Success on 27th April, 2018. It was a knowledgeable webinar. First he introduced himself then focused to 5 keys on global trends on education. He enlightened on school environment and current work environment. Student should learn by multiple resources like use of Google or online platform to learn new things and use classroom environment for discussion, exploration, collaboration rather than just imparting the information. He signifies importance of schools that schools are for group learning, more social and special place for student's participation in group and to listen to teachers. Children adapting learning anywhere but schools should work as a community or hub with parents teacher and students. Education leaders in private and government schools should adapt new changing environment otherwise they will left behind.

He discussed about the 5 keys of global trends of education that is 1. Corporation of education; 2. Challenges to assessment for university entrance; 3. Mindfulness and positive education ; 4. Detremining the relevant curriculum for a 21st century and 5 is Flipped and Blended learning and the future of school buildings.

Learning Outcome: It was an knowledgeable webinar in which teacher should focus beyond academic acievenment and need to focus on  soft creative skills, entrepreneurial, spirit, resilience ,character and ability to self-manage.

DETAILS OF THE EVENT: Farewell for class XII batch session (2017-18) was organized by the students of class XI (2017-18). The programme started with the welcoming of the students by the host. It was followed by a prayer (showers of blessings ) by music department. A self composed short and inspirational poem was recited by Ms. Simi Malik to bless the students. Students were addressed by the Hon’ble Director Mr. Rajest Suri. Then the head boy (Vinayak Sarawan) and head girl ( Ambika Anand) gave a thanks giving speech. The speech was followed by song Medley.  Titles were given to the children. Next was the play showcasing the school life was presented by the host students. Then there was a dance medley. The programme came to the end by the motivational speech by respected Principal Ma’am. In the last the students enjoyed the DJ.

MR.O.P.SINGH , Additional Director General, Haryana Police is a distinguished police officer and a well known writer. Also known as the "Marathon Man".

Twenty six students from SPS schools had gone to attend the launch of the book "HOSLA NAMA"  authored by Mr.O.P.Singh and published by Mr.Shobhit Arya.

This was followed by an address by Mr. Indresh Kumar (Chief Guest) who stated that “nothing is impossible as when doors can be made in walls, paths can be laid in tempests”.

Students got the opportunity to meet Ms.Babita Phogat (distinguished Indian wrestler who had recently joined Haryana Police) and had their their refreshments at the end. Overall an enriching and insightful learning experience.

Conclusion: The book will be interesting and inspiring as it motivates and guides the youth of today to find peace and happiness within and strike a balance between work and life. So everyone should read it once.




REPORT: Delhi Heritage Quiz by INTACH

Date: 20.4.18

Two students, Jiya Jindal and Archit Sehgal of class IX participated in the Delhi Heritage Quiz organised by INTACH, Delhi Chapter and World Monuments Fund on the occasion of the Post-Independence Architecture of Delhi- Watch Day on April 20, 2018 at the India International Centre.

The students received the participation certificate. They competed with the students of 93 schools of Delhi and NCR. The students heard the views of Mr. Anupam Bansal, author of Delhi- Architectural Guide and Ms. Amita Baig, India representative of World Monuments Fund on Post Independence Architecture of Delhi and why is it important to conserve these monuments as well. It was an enriching experience for the students.
